On November 15, the LUCKY residential complex hosted the grand opening of LAC bistrot, a restaurant by chef Valery Chigarnov.
The name of the project comes from the French word *lac* — “lake,” symbolizing depth, reflection, and tranquility. The place brings together history and textures, drawing inspiration from its location: the LUCKY residential complex used to be home to the paint factory owned by the Mamontov brothers, a well-known Russian merchant dynasty of the 19th century.
The restaurant's concept is based on four components: texture, taste, sensations, and sounds. In every element—from the dishes to the interior details—we seek to achieve a balance between these combinations.
The menu offers familiar dishes with flavors we know from childhood, as well as those we have grown used to. The menu uses seasonal ingredients, and the dishes are cooked over an open fire, which emphasizes and preserves the natural texture of the products.
The author and chef of the project, Valery Chigarnov, is a graduate of the Swiss academy SWISSAM, with experience interning at the American restaurants Betony (New York) and Manresa (California), as well as working in leading Moscow gastronomic projects — L.E.S., Beluga, Krasota, Zhirok, and 4rest. His approach harmoniously combines modern gastronomic trends with local seasonal products.
The culinary journey is complemented by an extensive wine list featuring over 150 selections curated by head sommelier Anatoly Lobachev, a certified expert of the Russian Sommelier Association and WSET Level 3 holder.
Pastry chef Daria Sanzharova is responsible for the exquisite desserts. She is a professional with nine years of experience working at Krasota (Moscow/Dubai), Gorynych, Mushrooms, and White Rabbit restaurants.
The sound design was created by Dmitry Fomichev (L’ATELIER de MUSIQUE), and the interior design was developed by the DBA-GROUP studio under the direction of Vladislav Andreev.
